My name is René Ortega better known as RANACHILANGA, I was born in Mexico city, I don't know if I can be called a photographer already, but I love taking photos and show the world the way I see it, everything but convencional is my kind of photography, always trying to find the beauty in the most common and non beauty at first sight things and places.

 

My main interests in photography are about the timeless scenes, I love taking a photography that could have been taken now or 50 years ago, I think it doesn't matter in stetics, a good photography wich can transmit a feeling doesn't need a date.

 

 

My most usual topics are Classic cars and places all over my country, but I'm always open to learn and try different kinds of photos and try to show them not in the ortodox way but the way I feel it and show it my way!

 

I'm a natural self student, most of the things I like and think do best have learned them reading, watching videos and practicing a lot, that same happened with photography and editing, but I still have the hope to get some formal education as soon as work and budget allow it.

 

 

Recently I found my grand grand father was a famous boxing and wrestling photographer in Mexico since early 30's.

That made me get more and more interested in following his steps, now having a role model and keep working for been able of living out of photography someday.

 

 

Have contributed for the last three years in the back cover of "Acontragolpe Letras" magazine with Oaxaca city photographies and eventually published in some cars magazines in the UK. Germany and U.S.A. with my La Carrera Panamericana photos. Have had a couple of collective exhibits and recently had an individual expo with the serial "OAXACA SIN TIEMPO" showing my personal timelees view of the mexican state of Oaxaca.

By now, I'll keep learning and getting experience, seems that Classic race cars and places are the kind of photography people is giving me the best comments and love to do it, so I'll keep in that way.
