Something Rebecca said recently got me to thinking about writing testimonials and I decided it was long over do that I write one for her. I have enjoyed her particular brand of photography for a very long time now as I know many others have too. She has a unique way of showing us the tiny things existing in our world by using her wonderful macro photography skills. From tiny and big mushrooms, to all sorts of insects, the delicate leaves of a tree or petals of a flower to the outstretched legs of a praying mantis. She photographs all these things with flair and particular skill. Her images are always extremely well focused, she has a great command of all the skills it takes to create a photo that is not only interesting to look at, but beautiful at the same time. And her collages are second to none. She manages to put together just the right combination of photos that compliment each other and create an overall feast for the eye. You are never disappointed when looking at Rebecca's photo stream. But with all that said, I would be remiss not to mention her pet photography. Her pet photos are really some of the best. The expressions and poses she manages to capture are unique and will always entertain and make you smile. She really knows how to get the reaction from her subjects to end up with the best overall result. If you haven't spent time on Rebecca's stream, you are missing out. I am very glad to know her and call her a friend here on flickr.

Her photographic skills are superb; her love for family and friends without equal; however, what I admire about her the most is her selflessness when it comes to animal welfare. When you visit her stream be ready to spend a few hours looking at her beautiful photos and prepare yourself to be overwhelmed by her love for animals and generosity; for Rebecca has a heart of gold. I haven't been on flickr long, but it's time I jumped in and wrote a few words about the photographers and artists that inspire me in some way. Rebecca is what I'd call a 'photographers photographer'. Her work is so very diverse and her talents are many. I enjoy her 'furbaby' photos and the stories she includes with them-she always captures the animals' personality so well! One thing that impressed me about Rebecca from the start is her passion for wildlife and her dedication to animals. Like myself, she abhors cruelty of any kind and she's not afraid to speak out! That goes a long ways with me. I'm proud to call her my friend, she always takes the time to write out meaningful comments and I always look forward to her unique and delightful photos. When I joined Flickr in 2008, I quickly discovered Red Star’s photos on a MyYahoo RSS feed to “We are the Cat People”. I was extremely impressed with her photographic and artistic talents. I share her compassion and love for animals. As time passed, we became friends. Her artistic and photo talents keep soaring higher and higher. She is an outstanding photographer! In 2003, it was necessary for me to go on Social Security Disability due to Hepatitis C and other medical issues. I have an overwhelming love for cats. In July 2008, my cat family brought home a stray beat up circa 7months old kitten. I willingly adopted him; after he allowed me to inspect the extent of his injuries. Being on disability, I am only able to work part-time. Rebecca has stepped in on two occasions to help with needed vet care for Tommy. Without her help and encouragement, Tommy would have reverted to being a feral tomcat, doomed to a short life span. I can never thank her enough for her help with Tommy cat. Rebecca strives for harmony in her home and with nature. Her inner peace shines thru her beautiful photography. She is a positive inspiration for all her Flickr contacts and others, who visit her photostream. Thank you, Rebecca, for sharing your life thru your photos, words, and videos on Flickr!

Her work has inspired me to become a better photographer and now I find myself really becoming my hardest critic to my work as when I see Rebecca's I see that there are no cut corners or nothing less than stellar photography. Where to start? There are so many amazing things that make Rebecca the wonderful person she is. I was first attracted to her photo stream when I read a comment she left on someone else's photo. I went to her stream and have being visiting every day since! She takes the most creative and colourful photo's of her happy, rescue dog Jasmine and of her two gorgeous cats! Her pictures are bright and funny and technically perfect! Her superb wildlife photographs have also kept me coming back, they are awe inspiring! These are not just "lucky shots" of a hawk or coyote. They are always masterfully executed, beautifully lit and simply gorgeous compositions over all! I see Rebecca's 'red star' in several of the communities I'm in and she always leaves the most thoughtful, detailed comments on my photographs as well as others. It's so obvious through her pictures that Rebecca is a compassionate, thoughtful and talented person who has a passion for helping animals. I think I have got to know Rebecca quite well now as a contact but even more so as a friend and in that time i have I have come to know her style of photography as well, she always has a good word and comments to say about other peoples work. Rebecca is in my opinion one of the most accomplished of nature and animal photographers on flickr, her cat and dog images are just superb and the expressions she manges to get make me look in wonder, as well as the serious side of wildlife rebecca also have a great sense of humour and this shows in her images, they make me smile and brighten up my day on seeing them, it has been a supreme honour and a privilege to have Rebecca as friend and a contact I eagerly look forward to seeing more of the same.
