My first meeting with Rahul was in the October of 2009. He immediately struck a chord for his immense compassion and zeal for photography. Whereas everyone today is boasting about their latest digital cameras and its megapixels….. Rahul still shoots film even if it’s a struggle to find the hardware, let alone the post processing labs that have disappeared over the years. The interesting thing about Rahul’s passion for photography is that he would always be ready to debate, answer, teach all that he possesses. I found that surprising, because today professional photography is so competitive that even the most powerful and established photographers would think twice before teaching you their tricks for the insecurity that surrounds their minds. Rahul is a true photographer and is not scared to experiment with himself in order to achieve that elusive shot. Imagine staying in the wild with little food absolute cold with each passing moment as a surprise to photograph, says a lot about his endurance. I experienced that first hand when he took me for an adventure to shoot Rohtang pass at night, planning the shoot meticulously to the last detail. We, rather I experienced mountain sickness, subzero temperature, at 14000 ft, but the experience was awe inspiring and Rahul didn’t even blink. I finally feel very proud to know him and to see his 8 year endeavour come to this grand finale by culminating into “Kulu-Beyond Horizons” is very heart warming. Cheers Rahul !!!
