I got to know Tracey and her work through the Female Photographers of Etsy...her shop name caught my eye, then it wandered over to her ethereal photo stream and shop....and never stopped, pretty much! I find her style dreamy, surreal, natural, evocative...and she puts the word Bokeh on the map! Seeking opportunities for light and shallow depth with interesting detail makes even the most minute flower or object pop with its own personality. Tracey mixes blur and light into something magical with nothing but a discerning eye and her camera. In addition, her free actions have made their way into my photoshop, allowing me to see some of my own work come to life in a different way! I just purchased some work from her for the first time and was nothing less than amazed that her art is going to grace my home! Finally...Tracey is a great supporter and mentor to me, I'm inspired by her in many ways. Many thanks to you, my dear!

That photo, as you might notice, is the second photo I favorited since joining Flickr. Looking at her other photos and loving everything she had to say, she became (and still is) my photographic hero. Witty, one of the best photographers I have the pleasure of knowing, and a inspiration everyday, she not only made me a better photographer, she introduced me to some great friends! Thanks, Ms. Dino. There is a part of me, just one part - it starts at the very top of my head and extends down to the very tippest of my toes, encompassing my eyes, my brain, my heart, my soul - which cannot resist RaceyTay's work and cannot do anything but love every single thing she posts. She is not just my favourite photographer on Flickr, and not just my favourite photographer anywhere; she is above all and over everything my favourite person; and that person - her mind and her being and her thinking - is evident in every photo. To make it as simple as possible, here is an unordered list of the things of which RaceyTay, with or without c00kies, takes stunning, heart-stopping, serene, warming, always beautiful and sometimes tear-provoking photos: + fences (yes, fences; look, if you're going to question The List, this could take a while) + live flowers + dead flowers (especially the dead flowers) + ballet dancers masquerading as flowers + bokeh + berries + branches + birds + ladybirds + manlybirds + hydrangea, alive and dead and somewhere in-between + turtles + reindeer + bokeh + red, in shades and colours I did not know existed + purple, amidst beauty which melts my heart; or where the purple is the beauty itself + bokeh + bikeh + fenceh + outside things + inside things + the evil undead + real things + imagined things + things which have not yet been imagined + things beginning with, ending with, or containing a letter of the alphabet + and bokeh. And here is a list of the things which RaceyTay is better at doing than anyone I have so far met in this life I once thought beyond surprise: + spotting photo possibilities + assessing bokehbilities + taking photos + processing photos + desaturating photos until you think there can't possibly be any more colour left but then you see that right there, that patch of colour, right in that very spot, that patch of colour which cannot be taken away is now the beating heart of the photograph + roaring + moaring + understanding + writing flickrmails + answering flickrmails + descripting + tagging + noting + rescuing elephants + cookie making + cookie sharing + words + being funny + being very funny + being very, very funny + being the funnest by far + being my very best friend. The other is because Racey doesn’t take herself too seriously. She probably should because she’s good enough to make it stick but she doesn’t. I love that.

Regardless of subject, focus & or lens, Tracey's photographs don't simply capture a moment...they're artful pieces that foster mood, wit & envy. As a lifelong creative, I've been fortunate to work with & witness some tremendous photographers...so my threshold for artistic amazement has been re-calibrated quite high. Yet I am stunned on a daily basis by the emotional impact her compelling work has on those of us who are lucky enough to view it. To that end, you'll find that perusing her photostream is much like trying to take in a large museum in a single day--there's just so much captivating & luminous work, that the mind has trouble comprehending it all. Go ahead, try--I'll wait. See? Come back tomorrow and get some more. It wouldn't at all be overstating to say that her vision has changed the way I view things thru the camera, as well as how I view the world around me. And though she'll deny it, I'm fortunate to count her as one of my closet Flickr friends.

OK, so Tracey is this amazing photographer, y'see? And I was blown away immediately by her photos, because they capture the world from a perspective I can only dream about, in colors I'd only previously read about in magazines I keep under the bed (if you know what I mean), and with a unique quality that only makes me want one simple thing: MOAR. But what really endears me to Tracey is her love for Bokeh, Babyon 5 (which, it would seem, is rare!) and for Franz Ferdinand. Those three things together spell A-W-E-S-O-M-E, and that is just what Tracey is. :D
