Patrick James Quirk, a native of Rhode Island and third generation Irish studied Molecular Bio Chemistry at a technological school in Vermont and went on to study Internet Communications and Design at New England Tech. An entrepreneur by nature, Patrick began his own company that provided a variety of services, from web design to media, for various companies allowing them to promote their online businesses. After visiting New Orleans on vacation, Patrick admired the artists and creative lifestyles of the people of New Orleans and moved there in the spring of 2001. A few years later, Patrick embarked on a 30 day photo journalistic tour of the western United States.

The trip served Patrick as a catalyst to the realization of his abilities as a photographer, an ability he had picked up as a youth and reemerged during the trip. The same day Patrick returned to New Orleans from his trip, he had to turn around and evacuate because Hurricane Katrina was on her way in. Patrick decided to move to Florida where he was hired as a Professional Photographer for the Walt Disney Corporation. After a short time there, he was promoted to train new photographers. While that experience served him well, Patrick decided to return to New Orleans and pursue his career as a photographer in a city he loves. The climate of change and renewal in New Orleans has given Patrick many opportunities for work as a photographer.

Local artists, businesses, and events have kept Patrick busy with projects that are contributing to his growing portfolio. His work may be spotted in local businesses around the town. Many of his photographs may be seen on his website at: rapparee.us

His abilities as a photographer come as no surprise to many because he is a third generation photographer. His grandfather, John Quirk, took reconnaissance photographs during the Second World War and captured photos of the A-bomb and from within the trenches. He spent much of his life in pursuit of notable news events, which included photographing various Presidents. John Quirk is known for shooting some extremely exclusive photos from within John F. Kennedy's funeral. He went on to work for an NBC affiliate for 30 years in Rhode Island. Patrick's father, Jack Quirk followed in his own father's footsteps into the world of photography. Jack started a production company in Oklahoma where he works on various types of projects. Jack is constantly working on prominent productions which include shooting movies. He also photographs for CNN and other distinguished news companies.

The legacy continues in present time with Patrick Quirk. Inquiries into projects for hire and the sale of photographs may be made to PatrickQuirk@gmail.com
