Hello, I am a retired US Army Sergeant First Class (1995) and retired telecommunications manager (2021). I grew-up in Michigan and joined the Army at 18 years of age. I’ve lived in Texas, Georgia, Washington DC, Maryland, Ansbach Germany, Frankfurt Germany, Stuttgart Germany and I now live in Iowa. My work overseas in the military also frequently took me to other European countries such as Italy, Turkey, Spain, Belgium and England.

I’ve been involved in the arts for most of my life; I played the trombone in school, have dabbled with oil painting and I am currently exploring photography and digital art as a retirement hobby. I’ve spent many hours volunteering at a community art center and have been an active member on a local City Arts and Culture Board.

I enjoy flickr and I enjoy the inspiration that I find in many of the superb photos that others have taken. I also find it fun to make choices about which photos of my own to post: creating a title and comments about each photo. I do appreciate the experience of learning to improve my skills, so negative or positive, your criticism is welcome.
