Telling of life, through pictures (here) and words (on our blog) of our restoration home and garden in France.
We are slowly working on restoring our home, a rather run down, some falling down, cobbled together place. It starts as a terrace house, on the main street running through our little village in Burgundy. It's 1970s linoleum infested decor belies it's older age. But the stone window lintels tell us of a longer history. Nothing is straight, with all rooms not even approaching square. The property extends back in trapezoidal style, past an extension, 2 caves (wine cellars), a covered outside area, grooms cottage, horse stall, and barn. All of which we have grand, and rather quirky, ideas for.
Beyond lies a 3 sectioned, sloping garden, divided by supporting walls. The first traps the sun, but the shady corner has been made into our duck enclosure. Beyond, part 2, is the veg and fruit patch. And the third, our overgrown mess, will be our shaded recluse. All are currently known affectionately as Big Dig 1, 2 and 3. And the veggie bit.
We are documenting our restoration work (slowly on all accounts) in pictures.
Beyond the house and garden work, we lead a homesteading and healthy lifestyle and work surrounded by pet ducks (and sometimes ducklings), including our imprinted duck Maggie, 3 cats, and our standard sized dachshund. It can get delightfully busy.
