I'm a film lover, and one of my many film interests is the exhibition side. I've been working at an art house for 21 years as a volunteer, projectionist and programmer/booker, and was a projectionist for some years in another. I love (old) movie theatres, and collect books, magazines and postcards of them. In the year 2000 I started taking pictures when I was on a short visit in LA and haven't stopped ever since, although I don't photograph them as much as I'd like to.

I've also collected hundreds of postcards with cinemas for about the same time. I scan the postcards at 600dpi and then remove blotches, hairs and dust, and make sure the colours are as they appear on the card (if it's not too tanned), and show them as they would be when perfectly printed. The only thing I can't do is realign/shift misprinted color hues. If I can, I upload them here and add the address and additional info.

I don't own the rights to these cards (although many will be in the Public Domain), and thus they've all been flagged as offensive, to exclude them from public tag searching. Since I did take all the time to scan them and clean them up, if you like to use one, do let me know, and if needed, I can provide you an even larger (300 or 600dpi) version. If you're looking for images of a certain theatre let me know, I may perhaps have postcard for it as this is only a quarter of what I possess.

I pretty much take all the pictures myself, some are taken by friends which I credit.

I've also come out of my so called "Dark Age" around 2008 and have been an avid AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO) ever since. And I like taking the occasional macro photo of insects.
