Why did Flickr remove the 'People' view. It was in my opinion the most important bit of Flickr (the social bit) , making it more difficult to find and follow the great photographers.

About me:

Charles is a Chartered Civil Engineer working in the South East of the UK.

I seek to minimise my carbon footprint, hence most of my images are taken locally as I avoid 'travelling to collect '.

My first images were captured on holidays in the late 1970s after I was given a box 126 format compact..., none remain but it was love at first experience.

Photography really entered my life during my time at boarding school between 1985/8 when I had access to the darkroom and all it's associated facilities when I bought my first SLR, a Pentax P30 which I supplemented later with Penax's utterly reliable clockwork K1000. I shot film for 15 years in the UK and later while backpacking in SE Asia between 1992 and 1995.

I then had to take a break while at university due to lack of funds to buy and process film.

My second and much deeper involvement started in 2004 when my wife, bought me my first digital compact - a 0.75mp toy that lead me to mistakenly sell my Pentax to fund the Nikon dSLR system which I use today. When the sDLRs expire I might go mirrorless.

Flickr is where I publish with occasional posts to Instagram at www.instagram.com/charlespuckle/

If you like what you see , let me know – it is good for the soul and I will try to return the favour. It is of course so much better to give feedback in words as opposed click likes.

Would you like to use any of my images? Ask and we will find something that works, but I cant offer free commercial usage 'for exposure'.

I make all efforts to respond personally to 'handwritten' comments .. but less so for copy/pasted banners that tell me about the groups that we share membership of.

BADGE

I use no AI in the generation of my images, and have very little knowledge of editing so don't do much digital manipulation.

I do not, and have never knowingly consented to the use of any of my images for the training of AI image creators. Content aware fill/clone should be the limit of true photography; the rest should be labelled as digital art / digital graphic design which has its place.
