Been taking pictures for about 45 years, starting with a Chinon as a kid and a Canon A1 that I bought with my first few wage packets.
Sold all of my DSLR gear in 2011/2012 and moved over to the smaller, lighter and more discrete Micro Four Thirds system to concentrate on Urban/Street/Reportage style photography.
I love that photography makes a boring walk interesting and forces you to observe your surroundings as you pass through them. Without a camera you tend to look without seeing, with your focus on the destination rather than the environment. The instant that you take a picture it becomes a historical record of a moment that can never happen again. As I look again at the people I froze years ago it is clear that many will no longer be walking the planet with us but they are immortalised for as long as the visual record exists.
It is a challenge to record the people and places we encounter and to try to convey something of their core essence, or capture an emotion, or see some humour and thus ignite our imaginations.
I hope you enjoy my efforts and please leave a comment if you have an opinion and the time to spare - constructive criticism helps all of us.
In late 2022 I started accumulating full frame gear again and now reside in the Philippines where I have time again to 'waste' taking pictures to share with the Flickr community.
I'm locked into the Canon system but if anyone has a spare Q3...........!!!
