I create art from the everyday. By the everyday, I refer to the beauty in a scene or person that may not always be evident, beauty that is passed up, neglected or simply overlooked. Art and beauty often go undetected because we don’t take the time or energy to look beyond the obvious. Sometimes one can't see the forest for the trees, but I more often find that one doesn't see the trees for the forest. Beauty may be found in a symphony or the rustle of the breeze through the leaves of a tree, in the intricate detail of a leaf or the skeletal lines of an ancient and abandoned building.
