Jamal E. Josephs
Drag to set position!
Graduated with my Chemical Engineering degree in May 2015! It took more out of me than I thought and now I'm still kinda adjusting back to normal life... whatever that is.....
Note
*******************
I'm currently working and in university earning my 2nd degree (Chemical Engineering) and this is taking most of my time. Obviously my time here is much more limited than it ever was, so, that explains my long absences... Please don't be offended if I am not able reciprocate comments on your photostream. I do BRIEFLY stop by Flickr when I'm able to.

Hobbies
Art enthusiast, classical guitarist, table tennis, snowboarding, photography (obviously).
Philosophical Photographic Preferences
I don't care how you shot the photo. I don't care if you only use natural light, or if you only shoot film. Can you be creative and present a work of art with the tools you have?
Comments
Honestly, I prefer contacts who will take the time to comment on my photos (feedback, constructive criticisms, praise, thoughts/ideas, long or short). My focus here on Flickr is to learn and share. Please consider this before adding me as a contact. ;) If you add me as a contact, but never interact with me in any way, I'll just take it as you wanting to simply follow my work. And that's cool, but I probably won't add you back, since I already probably have too many contacts at this point already. :D
I do very much appreciate your comments and I read every single one. However, I don't usually reply to the comments on my images (unless you ask me a question--then I'll answer). I'd rather stop by your stream and return the favor with a comment on one of your lovely images. :)
Awards
Um, what else......? Oh, I don't have the time to give out awards, but if you award me, I will definitely stop by your stream and comment one or more of your images.....;)....
Honestly, I feel that awards are a bit impersonal. I'd much more appreciate the time you'd take to share your own thoughts. No hard feelings though. ^_^
On another note...
Some Thoughts
Since I was very young, I've always had a strong affinity to art in its various forms. When it comes to photography, I could honestly say that my style reflects my life. I love the idea of being well-rounded and enjoy learning new things (for example, I learned how to crochet!)-- even if it may take me out of my comfort zone. My view is the more I learn, whether it be language, culture, skills, etc, it opens doors to so many other possibilities and relationships in life.
Disappearances
Sometimes life gets really busy and I've been known to disappear from Flickr, sometimes days, sometimes weeks, sometimes months, but I'm here to stay. Thanks to those of you who don't forget me....
Once again, I value constructive criticism. I'm here to share and learn... and I'm not easily offended. ;)
Finally, yes, all my images are copyrighted. Don't steal. Stealing's bad.... blah blah blah.... I KILL you!
Take it easy.

I first met Proleshi (or Mr. Josephs to me) when I was in 7th grade, and had him as my physical science teacher in 8th grade. He is definitely one of my favorite teachers that I've ever had, and my friends and I were all so sad when he moved away. I remember that he really took the time to develop a friendship with each of us students, and I also remember him sharing some of his pictures with us. Seeing Mr. Josephs' photography and the art that he was able to create with a camera was very inspiring to me and a part of the reason that I became interested in photography. Now, four years later, I love checking his photostream and seeing his latest works of art. One of my favorite aspects of his photography is the way that he is able to capture light and the true beauty of his subject. I know he will continue to be very successful in years to come and I hope he comes back to visit his students very soon!

His work never fails to impress me, in fact every time I visit his stream I am always blown away by his abilities. Portraits, Nature, Landscape, Conceptual... (Seriously, Jamal, is there anything you can't do?! :P ) But it's not just his amazing work that makes him such a great contact, it's also his attitude towards photography - always there to give advice, feedback and comments. I'm really looking forward to seeing where his work leads him in the future :)
