Progress House was founded in December 1961 by a group of men and women who recognized the need for a recovery setting. These people themselves had recovered from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body.
Progress House started with space for approximately 10 men when it opened its modest doors in the 2000 block of North New Jersey Street. The house later moved to 1703 North Talbot Street. In 1969, Progress House moved to 14 North Highland Avenue, where it remained for the next 32 years until the move in November 2001 to our current location one mile from Downtown Indianapolis.
Each week Progress House hosts regularly scheduled AA and NA meetings for the benefit of those who wish to try our way of life.
