I've enjoyed photography for most of my life. In high school I was in a photography club and used black and white exclusively, doing my own developing and printing. Later I got more into expressing my creativity through music so I didn't do much photography which, at the time at least, was more expensive (and I moved across the country so I didn't have access to a dark room any more).

A few years ago I got a digital camera, a Nikon CoolPix 995, and have gotten into taking pictures again. Although it's beginning to show its age I still find it to be an excellent camera (besides, I can't afford to replace it). But I find that I take more pictures with my phone, a Nokia XpressMusic 5300 with a 1MP camera -- after all, I'm more likely to have my phone with me than any other camera. I also have a keychain camera that's a lot of fun that takes really, um, interesting photos, although I'm lazy about replacing its batteries, and I have lost many good pictures by not transferring them to my computer before the battery dies.

I'm a graduate student at UCLA, which doesn't allow me much time for hobbies (so the "Prof." designation is still somewhat prospective). But I like taking pictures and sharing them when I get the chance.
