[...] la fotografia è diventata una forma di divertimento diffusa quasi quanto il sesso ed il ballo, il che significa che, come quasi tutte le forme d'arte di massa, non è esercitata dai più come arte.
E' soprattutto un rito sociale, una difesa dall'angoscia, ed uno strumento di potere.
