Founded in late 2010 Primitive Press is a London based design and screen printing studio specialising in the production of hand printed products.

Through the examination and study of geometric aesthetics from cultures around the world, our focus is on the design and application of pattern to a wide range of surfaces, creating hand crafted products including wallpaper, furniture, fabric, home wares and garments.

Inspired by the woven textiles of Pre-Columbia, Navajo and Africa. Our aim is to approach the design process with a similar structure to that of weaving, although with the intention of transforming the slow process of weaving with the fast process of digital media to construct patterns of this nature.

All of our products are completed through the process of screen-printing, with each product being part of an edition and each print being pulled by hand. It is a process we greatly value to create an overall unique and personally hand crafted product.
