Photography has always been an interest of mine however it wasn't until I upgraded to my Canon EOS 450D Xsi, Nov/08, that I felt the need to move beyond simply capturing a moment to applying all the elements to create something more.

I consider myself self taught although I did take a photography class back in highschool and had a co-op placement with a commercial photographer. I understood the basics but film wasn't cheap and I didn't have the confidence to experiment, so I played it safe. Digital allows freedom, (it doesn't cost anything to make mistakes) although I do miss doing it old school, especially dark room time.

I welcome, appreciate and encourage honesty. Without such feedback I can not grow and improve - all of which are important to me.

My personal goals in photography:

- incorporate and/or invoke emotion

- lose my insecurities

- tell stories, express myself

I am 28, originally from Ontario but relocated to Newfoundland early Dec/06.
