About Me

Prateek Raghav is a passionate nature, street and an astro-photographer who started his passion for capturing landscapes and night skies while on an astronomy trip to Aries Observatory, Nainital. It was an amazing experience to travel to the Kumaon foothills of the outer Himalayas, with the introduction to this intensely exciting and creative field of art, he decided to go further into this offbeat track.

 

Since that trip of discovery back then, he has taken every opportunity to pack his camera gear and travel to some of the most remote and picturesque destinations. He has also photographed the diverse and mindblowing landscapes of Ireland’s Eastern and Western coast and the captivating scenery of Connemara Valley.

 

His love for nature and nature photography as also driven him into deep Himalayan jungles of Corbett national park to the dry deciduous forests of Ranthambore, to capture some rarely spotted Sloth Bears.

 

Personal Interests

 

Prateek has a varied and diverse interests. Academically he is a post graduate in Electronic Systems but carefully chose the majors in Image processing and analysis so as to be a help in making photography as a career. He is also plays guitar when he is not clicking and tech freak who likes to fiddle around with electronic equipments. His interest in astronomy lead him to possess a telescope which was only good for clicking pictures of moon and observe some faint galaxies.

 

His choice of music is also diverse as his interests, he grooves and headbangs to the rock ‘n roll of 70s, old school of late 80s to the recently emerged funk. As music has no language, the soft and hollow ballad type songs with the lyrical crafting of Gulzar makes him sink down to wonder about the intricacies of life.

 

When comes to reading, he is always trying to learn from the self help books that teach about life and spirituality. As he is not reading much, he is always picky about the book to read.

 

Prateek lives in the satellite town of Noida near New – Delhi with his family and a not so human member, a German shepherd named Marshall.
