I think what first captured my attention about Tye's work was the similarity I saw of myself in his images. Not is skill, for his far surpass my own....but rather in thought....in story....and emotion. I found a connection to his images of the land and abandoned homesteads and such that I felt captured the kind of emotion I would want the image to have, had I taken the shot myself. Looking at his work makes me feel at times as though I have stumbled upon a close friend from years past I had somehow forgotten and now am being reminded of. His work is a study in wonder and appreciation at the grander, simpler, and more authentic world around him in the open landscapes of Canada.
