Hello.
A picture is worth a thousand words, someone said. I couldn't agree more. Even the simplest still image, captured view, delivers the information you could write a book about. A magical moment, oozing with feeling and passion, can be borrowed from it's path through time. The most beautiful piece of life can be put to a single sample. To a photograph.
My photo hobby took it's first baby steps when I bought my Nikon D70 in November 2006. Before that the whole thing was just careless snapshooting with compact cameras. But now I'm taking it more seriously, reading about it and paying more attention to the light and how it manifests itself. I've more analytical approach on taking photos and I try to learn as much as I can from it. I just hope that all this seriousness doesn't kill my grown love towards photography.
And few years later I'm still here, shooting and having fun. Som time ago I updated my gear to Nikon D300 with some tele and macro primes, ultrawide zoom and a sturdy tripod with solid ballhead and gimbal for some bird action. Things took turn to something serious, although the essential fun is always there when I grab my gear and head into the woods. The emphasis is more and more into nature photography, but still in quite flexible manner without themes or general purpose in anything. I just roam and when something interesting comes along, I shoot it. I've even more developed my eye by studing about the all-important light, composition, timing, points of view, etc. and of course by looking at pictures for example here at Flickr. And as I've begun to pay more attention to detail in photography, I've also begun to apply this behaviour in my other doings. The respect towards nature has grown as has my willingness to help preserve it's beauty through photography.
Now I only have to make this complex equipment as an extension of my photographic being and start shooting. It can be just that simple.
