Firstly I must say i do not take grave photos to offend anyone. I sometimes get messages from people who cannot understand why I find this an interest especially if it involves an image of a grave from their family, some assume I'm related because "why would anyone be interested otherwise", comes the response. Genealogy is an extremely popular past-time and I've always been fascinated learning about other people and passing their stories on where I can.
I am the keeper of stories for my family and realise that so many families die out and people are forgotten from living memory if a little something about them is not 'out there'.
If you find a photo connected to your family and wish it removed please let me know. However before you request this, take the time to think about those within your extended family that may not be able to get to the cemetery to visit the grave.
Avid taphophile, love cemetery trawling, digital photography and have a great love of Canterbury history. Genealogist for over 45 years and reside in New Zealand. The past few years i've only used my iPhone or small Canon Power Shot SX700 HS. The only editing I do is a bit of cropping or straightening.
I've lived in Auckland since August 2007 and work within the heritage sector, but my heart is in Christchurch where I was born and bred.
