My interest in photography began when I retired from full time teaching over 18 years ago.
Part of my teacher training had been in Art and Design and I had promised myself that on retirement I would take up water colour painting. I got my first DSLR (Nikon D80) to help me there, because I had intended to paint wildlife and flowers and hoped to capture photos to help with some of the detail.
Although very new to photography I was hooked immediately. My new easel, paper and paints remain untouched.
My main interest is still wildlife, especially birds, insects and flowers. I like to try anything new and do spend time processing my photos, which I always shoot in RAW.
I have learnt so much over the years and my photography has become very important to me.

Pauline is the master of framing - she finds always the right pattern and colours for the perfect framing which underlines the objects in her pictures. She shows so many different kinds of pictures, working on her skills without resting, it seems. Her topics are close to nature, she takes her on her daily paths as well as over the ocean. I like also the communication on Pauline's photostream: a lot of information about photography, ideas, exchange of experiences and always such a kind feedback. Thanks for sharing your view, Pauline!
