from the first time I saw an image of hers www.flickr.com/ph... have been entranced. Always something new and always moving, revealing some mystery, there is a medieval solidity with a darkness that is light, moving among the daily objects of a modern, urban world that is centuries old.

Her shadows aren't just the flat graphic lines of so many photographs, nor even empty black negative space. For me, the substance of her images so often resides within the darkness - the subtly different tones of dark on dark, and the intricately recorded details therein. Her palette is so restrained that I get a huge hit from the slightest little shots of colour. Exploring her images is a visceral, as well as an emotional, experience. I am full of admiration.

polah2006 has such a master's eye for gorgeous abstracts. Many times I have found myself drawn to a photo in a pool because of it's gorgeous light, intriguing composition and obvious reverence for the intrinsic beauty of subject to find that it was shot by polah2006!
