I've picked up a camera for the first time in [deleted by censor] years to attempt to "do" creative photography again, starting out with a borrowed Canon PowerShot and then "graduating" to my own Olympus E-520.
Having been a photography geek in my younger years (Olympus OMs), a computer geek in middle years (majoring in paying the bills, minoring in Macintosh), we'll see how the new (to me, other than point and shoot) digital paradigm does blending these interests. So far, I'm having a ball, and Thomas Wolfe was wrong: You can go home again, and one can look at the world in a 4:3 perspective.
I have met sooooo many neat, talented, funny, and inspirational people here...I never would have figured what an awesome community this is here on Flickr.
Please do not post "I saw this in xxx" canned scriplets that add no opinions or original thought (pro or con) in my comments. They only serve to annoy me, and frankly, I think they serve no purpose (unless annoying me is your purpose, and then they work admirably.....) as the view counts are calculated elsewhere. Curmudgeonly? Perhaps....
