Hi Folks, thanks for stopping by to see me. I'm just a guy who loves to travel and take all the shots that I identify as a shot, particularly in the mountains. Preferably landscapes, flowers, wildlife, all that nature gives us....also like night shots.
I joined Flickr in May of 2008, and cannot believe how much I have learned in this period of time. A sincere thanks to all of you who have given me so much inspiration. When you're in the company of folks who are so much better than you, and if you are motivated or ambitious at all...then you're going to get better also!

I enjoy seeing where my visitors come from. Tried adding the flag counter, and I cannot get it to work. Have been thru all the forums, etc., and even the flag counter folks themselves don't seem to care.
So...I will do my own counting. International only...don't think I could keep up with the US visitors. I am honored and flattered to have had visitors from from all over the U.S., and from the following countries.
Argentina (19) - Austria (5) - Australia (11) - Belgium (10) - Brazil (18) - Canada (37) - Chile - China (3) - Costa Rica (2) - Czech Republic (2) - Denmark (2) - Dominican Republic - El Salvador - Estonia (2) - Finland (5) - France (29) - Germany (35) – Gibraltar - Greece (4) - Guatemala - Hong Kong - Iceland (8) - India (15) - Indonesia - Ireland (3) - Israel - Italy (58) - Japan (7) - Kuwait - Lebanon - Macedonia - Malaysia (9) - Maldives - Mexico (3) - Mongolia - Namibia - Netherlands (22) - New Zealand (4) - Norway (4) - Paraguay - Philippines (5) - Poland (2) - Portugal (12) - Puerto Rico (2) - Qatar - Romania (2) - Russia (5) - Saudi Arabia (4) - Scotland (12) - Serbia (3) - Sicily (2) - Singapore (3) - Slovakia - South Africa (2) - South Korea (4) - Spain (47) - Sri Lanka - Sweden (8) - Switzerland (3) - Taiwan (8) - Thailand (3) - Trinidad - Tunisia - Turkey (6) - United Kingdom (64) - Uruguay (2) - Venezuela - Vietnam (2) - Wales (3)
12-10-09: I'm afraid I cannot keep up with this anymore, attempting to add flag counter now. Starting over with the count, including the U.S. this time.
12-11-09 - OH...HAVE YOU TRIED THE FLAG COUNTER YET? IN THE PAST 24 HOURS IT COUNTED 12 VISITORS FOR ME. I COUNTED 36. THE FLAG COUNTER SEEMS TO COUNT ABOUT EVERY THIRD VISITOR.
12-14-09: CORRECTION - IT COUNTS ABOUT 10% OF YOUR VISITORS.
12-16-09: CORRECTION - IT COUNTS MERELY A TRACE OF YOUR VISITORS.
12-24-09: CORRECTION: IT DON'T KNOW HOW TO COUNT!!!
12-29-09 CORRECTION & FINAL SUMMARY: IT IS A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME!
I DELETED THE FLAG COUNTER, AND GAVE UP ON KEEPING UP WITH IT MYSELF. TOO BAD SOMEONE CAN'T COME UP WITH SOMETHING RELIABLE HERE!

I have admired Phil's photos for some time... one of his photos was one of the very first I made a favorite, many months ago, although I didn't realize it was him at the time. Recently I saw an astonishing photo he had taken of a hummingbird, and left a longer comment than usual, expressing admiration and a bit of frustration at my own meager attempts at this same subject. How surprised was I when an encouraging, friendly email arrived saying he had checked out my equipment (imagine, taking the time to do that for a complete stranger) and that I could achieve some good results with the tips he took the time to add. He has emailed back a few times, answering all my questions fully, and had given me hope that I may in time capture a photo of a hummingbird that is worthy of Flickr. If not... that is ok too. I've met a lovely generous person on Flickr, and that is enough.
