Born and raised in Hawaii. I was that weird pale kid hiding under a blanket at the beach.
As a young child, I spent lots of time watching Kikaida and Kamen Raider with my great grandmother. I have not so fond memories of being dressed up in kimono by her every New Year's Day. Obis are tight and that little lady (even though she probably only weighed 70 pounds) was freaking strong!
Hello Kitty was there for me for most of the 80's. I spent 3 summers and a heck-a-lota money in Japan on many Sanrio products. Tuxedo Sam and Little Twin Stars were my favorite.
In the late 80's, I wore lots of layers of black clothing while I listened to The Smiths and The Cure in the broiling hot Hawaiian Sun. Isn't it so ironic? :|
In 1989, I spent my last year of high school in the Netherlands (Huygenwaard HAVO, Heerhugowaard). The early 90's are forgettable except my horrible stint as the world's worst DJ at KTUH.
Introduce Seattle, Washington--the home of Nirvana and Pearl Jam. I arrived here in the height of it all in 1992. Yes, I did wear the plaid shirts, so sue me.
[Vintage scooter stuff in between here and there]
Today, I'm a married old lady that runs a digital design and animation studio with my hubby. I work every day with super talented people I completely adore. I hardly do anything creative but hopefully that will change now that I'm married and my life is pretty much over. LOL.
