art by Ren Adams
Artist, writer, poet, semi-philosopher, teacher, dork.
I've been painting and sketching my entire life--and seriously cultivating technique for over 20 years.
My focus is on Chinese brush painting, which I do daily as part of my meditation. I'm also a Taoist and I find Chinese brush painting to be a centering, calming connection to the Tao... each painting is another step along the path of peace and balance.
I also work in oil, acrylic, pastels, ink, graphite, printmaking (monotype, collagraph, relief), and small-scale sculpture.
My work explores the interconnectedness of all things, identity, and the instantaneous moment.

PlasticPumkin (aka Ren) is an artistic goddess who made my studio beautiful beyond my wildest dreams with a series of tropical botanicals, included my beloved giant sago in bloom. Her worth is just breathtaking.
