My station name for Sony Online Entertainment and PlanetSide 2 is Wreckful. I am an avid and experienced gamer, and have been my whole life. The first video games I have ever played were Mario Brothers series on the original Nintendo Entertainment System and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. From there, I moved onto computer gaming and have been a big PC gamer ever since. I was really into the strategy genre type games like Caesar III by Sierra, Majesty, Command and Conquer, and Starcraft. I played other PC games like Final Fantasy VII, Thief, Lords of Magic, and Diablo. Then, when I was in high school, I was introduced to the original Half-Life game and everything changed.

Half-Life was the first FPS (First Person Shooter) game that I have ever played, and loved it. I learned the hard way…getting killed over and over again. I was getting 63 deaths and 0 kills a match. But, as I watched what my friends where doing when they killed me, I learned how they did it. By watching them kill me endlessly, I learned the tricks and techniques on how they did it. By the end of the school year, I had the best kill/death ratio in the class.

Runescape was the first MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) game that I have ever played. The main reason I started to play it was so I had something to do at work. A browser based game meant that I didn’t have to download a game file on the work’s computer. Runescape was fun, but not fun enough to play on my own free time at home. I was really into the free online game Soldier Front by www.ijji.com and that’s what I played when I got home. I knew about World of Warcraft, but was always hesitant on starting it both because of the monthly subscription fees and the low level 60 cap. Even before I started playing wow, I thought the level cap was too low. I was too used to Runescape’s high levels for all their “crafts” and such.

I started playing World of Warcraft when they had the expansion Wrath of the Lich King, around patch 3.2. The main reason, yet again, was work related. I could bring a laptop to work and I needed something to do to past the time. This game I could both play at work and was fun enough to play at home. When I hit level 60 with one of my first characters, an alliance Paladin, I found the wonders of PvP (Player versus Player) battle. It was Alterac Valley holiday weekend (the call to arms battleground) and I leveled the rest of the way all by PvP. I loved how each class had special abilities, the lore behind the whole world of Azaroth and the classes, and the rivalry between the factions. I been a pvper ever since. I love to form premades for normal battleground and run rated battleground. My main character is a Death Knight, Duranim from Tichondrius. I have 2500 mmr experience with this character. I don’t care for arena, not because its hard, but because its not as big as battlegrounds and doesn’t take as much coordination and teamwork that battlegrounds have. I could never really get into the pve (Player versus Environment) aspect of the game. If I wanted to do something like that, I would play a better single player RPG game than pay $15 a month to do it online. PvE doesn’t require more people in my mind.

The whole point of the story is this: I love FPS games, not the story based ones, but the free online ones with fast paced action. I love big MMO player-vs-player games like battlegrounds in World of Warcraft. Put the two together, and you have MMOFPS: AKA PlanetSide 2 by Sony Online Entertainment.

I am really excited about PlanetSide 2 and wish I heard about the original PlanetSide game years ago. The fast action FPS aspect of the game sounds really fun. I played Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty, but they where too focused on the FPS aspect and wasn’t very fun or fast enough action for me. The MMO portion of the game is what I am most excited for. The ability to form large “raids” and just go out and kill shit or form coordinated attacks is right up my ally. Because this is a FPS, you wont have any of that “its pve raid night, cant pvp right now” kind of attitude. I mean, how hard is it to kill an AI boss that has the same abilities and spells? Nothing changes. And you call that fun? AND TAKES SKILL? No thank you.

PvP is all about the blood, gore, and rivalry. The pve in games is what kills MMORPGs in my opinion, and the pvp that is based on a pve game has many flaws and imbalances. With a FPS, its all about the pvp. PvE in a FPS game is nearly nonexistent. PlanetSide 2′s MMO aspect of forming large “raids” and playing with thousands of players simutaniously and FPS aspect of being a pvp only game is why I am really excited to play PlanetSide 2. I cannot wait for beta.

I have a priority PlanetSide 2 beta key and will posting as much information as I legally can, and will try to provide live streams whenever possible. All my steams will be posted on my YouTube page at: www.youtube.com/planetside2stream. My goal with PlanetSide 2 is to either form a large outfit or an officer in one and lead large raids. So please tune into my stream at www.twitch.tv/planetside2stream for the massive MMOFPS pvp action!
