I like taking photographs. I like the analog form of photography more than its digital successor. I'm not too fond of groups take themselves too seriously, and yes, I did join one of them. I am not so uptight that I can't appreciate the democratic nature of photography where anyone can create a one-of-a-kind image. I appreciate well-made cameras, especially my Leica M3 and Canon Ae-1. I like connecting with photographers worldwide and hope to resume traveling once this pandemic Is over.
Thoughts on Street photography
Street photography as a genre catches a lot of flack. The extreme flexibility of what constitutes street photography is also one reason why it attracts controversy. It also attracts cliques and groups that act as arbiters of what is and isn't street photography imposing narrow views and subjective criteria. Street photography is an intensely personal endeavor. If you compromise, all we end up doing is creating cliches so that someone will let you into their exclusive group. So go forth and create photos that are true to your vision and ignore the haters, especially the self-appointed "hardcore" experts.
