I am an engineer and a physicist with artistic tendencies, which are not always embraced at work. I suppose I would consider myself to be a advanced-amateur photographer that has been interested in photography for some time now. I caught the bug when I was young and started with a Minolta SRT202, which I still have, but the cost of film and developing kept me from really getting into and exploring photography. In 2005 I finally decided to go digital when I bought my first digital camera, an 8 megapixel Canon EOS 20D. I have used small point and shoot digital cameras before then, like the Nikon E4500 and Canon PowerShot S400, but the resolution wasn't quite good enough for the type of pictures I wanted to take. I spend a lot of time outdoors, so I suppose I specialize in landscape, travel, panoramic, and adventure photography, but I also dabble in astrophotography and low light photography. I try to explore and photograph those out of the way places where most people won't or can't go to. I have only recently begun to seriously explore the many aspects of photography and hope to one day become as skilled as those on this site. Over the years I have acquired a small arsenal of equipment that I use depending on what I'm shooting that includes a Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 20D, Canon A650IS, GoPro HD, Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1G, and only a hand full of lenses. Any comments or constructive criticism about my posted photos would be encouraged and extremely helpful.
