I'm based in New York City and have been making photographs of one kind of another since the mid-1980s. I'm really enjoying the many opportunities for street photography in NYC. The works of Bill Brandt, August Sander, Inge Morath, Neil Slavin, Robert Frank, Duane Michals, Elliott Erwitt, and Dutch Genre Paintings are my muses (especially Brandt). I'm planning to get back into portraiture (especially occupational and group portraiture) and would like to try out figurative studies ... stay tuned.
I've recently sold off almost all my gear so I can better focus on taking better photographs without being physically and mentally loaded down with a heavy bag full of gear. To simplify further, I decided just to use manual lenses - to use my brain more and rely on the myriad functions as little as possible.
What I've got left is just this:
Digital: Sony a7c body with a Voigtlander APO 35mm & 110mm lenses
Film: Mamiya 6 MF body with the 3 dedicated lenses (50mm, 75mm, 150mm)
