I live at Bellingen on the mid-north coast of NSW, Australia. Here it is on Google Maps, and if you zoom out you'll see the close proximity to mountains and Pacific Ocean.

Started photographing in about 2003 with an Olympus Camedia something or other. Today I have a Canon PowerShot A450. I don't think it's quite as good as the Olympus, but it's OK. I have no time for or interest in learning technical jazz; I just like to point and click. I hope sometimes a good shot breaks through.

I'm a writer by trade. My current books are Faces in the Street (an Australian historical novel about Henry Lawson, Louisa Lawson and their circle of radical associates), and The FeelGood Manual, a self-help book without the mumbo jumbo.

I'm a member of the Rainbow Region flickr group for North-eastern New South Wales. I'm also a member of Uncaged! Birds in our homes for people who live with uncaged birds at home.
