Hello,

Since my early teens I have always loved taking photos. This was long before the days of digital that we know now. In these days, taking a great photo was not so easy and a lot more expensive. Sending a film away for developing, waiting excitedly for it to drop back through the letter box, only to find that most were out of focus, or Grandad’s head has been chopped off !!! Now we can just click away, press a button to view the picture straight away, and then delete these photos you don’t want. Getting that great shot is still a challenge and one I thrive to achieve, sadly not all the time, but it’s fun trying.

My passion is Landscape and Nature, from birds in my garden or the local park to wild animals on safari in Africa, from a snowy footpath to a helicopter flight over the Alps or Table Mountain – I LOVE IT.

Flickr is an amazing place. I have found so many outstanding and inspiring photos here from all over the world. I have found help in identification birds and insects, and I have also found Flickr to be a great source of information and ideas about places I would like to visit.
