MY PROFILE :-

 

Age 87 years.Retired in 1993 as Managing Director of SHIVAJI WORKS LTD, a public limited company,Solapur,India ,now KIRLOSKAR FERROUS INDUSTRIES LIMITED.( KIRLOSKAR group company).

 

After retirement, I joined painting class in 1996 ,without any formal knowledge of painting,under the experienced artist and learnt how to sketch and paint in oil on canvas.I did my first 10 paintings in one year under his expert guidence.Unfortunately the teacher expired. I further developed the art on my own.All my paitings are from photos.

 

I am married .My wife Nilam is 81 years of age and is expert in making Karnataki Kashida on silk sarees. We have two sons and one daughter.Our second son is settled in USA.We have four grandchidren-all of them are grown up and are graduated..

-Full Technological Certificate from CITY & GUILDS OF LONDON INSTITUTE,Department of Technology in FOUNDRY PRACTICE.

-DIPLOM in Professional Training in West Germany (1963-64) from West German Ministry of Economic Co-operation in the field of INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING in THEROY &; PRACTICE.(Course in German language)

EXPERIENCE:

 

Total around 40 years.Most of it is at the senior level top management.Some of the Management programs attended are:

 

15th Advanced Management Program for TOP MANAGEMENT conducted by All India Management Assosiation in collaboration with Administrative Staff College of India at Shrinagar,Kashmir

from 25-8-1974 to 14-9-1974.

 

TQC Seminar for INDIAN TOP MANAGEMENT organised by JUSE ( Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers)in TOKYO,Japan in 1993.

 

Study Mission-One of the 5 Member Study Mission to Japan to study the Advanced Foundry Technology organised by AIEI now CII(Confederation of Indian Industries)in 1986.

 

As a leader of 3 member technical team of KIRLOSKAR Group Foundries visited Brazil during 1990 to study the KORF TECHNOLOGY to manufacture Low Phosperous Pig Iron by Mini Blast Furnace(MBF)route.Recommended the technology to the Group Chairman which was accepted and the project was lateron implemented.I was the Promoter Director of the new company KIRLOSKAR FERROUS INDUSTRIES LTD (KFIL),Hospet in Karnatak district.for the initial period.The commercial production of Low P pig Iron started from April 1994.

 

I was deputed to HITCHINER MANUFACTURING COMPANY,New Hampshire during 1979 to study their patented CLA process for producing thin walled castings by vacuum process. Shivaji Works Ltd entered into Thechnical Collaboration with HITCHINER.I joined the company from 1st January 1980.The Investment Casting Project was successfully implemented under my control.

 

Attended World Conference in Investment Castings in MILAN in 1980 and in WASHINGTON in 1989.

 

Attended International Foundry Congress in AUSTRALIA during 1985 and chaired one of the Technical sessions

 

For selecting modern technology for manufacture of castings visited GIFA exhibition during 1979 and 1989.Visited large number of Foundries in Japan,(.Earlier I had visted KOMATSU Foundries on 4 occasins during Technical Collaboration with KOMATSU between 1974-1978).Visited modern foundries in Germany UK,Switzerland and Sweden.

 

Participated in FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW exhibiting Castings manufactured by SWL for automotive applications during 1989.

 

Visited FDC(Foundry Design Corporation),ZURICH for a possible Technical Consultancy Agrrement for Rationalisation & Modernisation of SWL facilities during 1992.

 

I was Director on KIRLOSKAR ELECTRODYNE Ltd,Pune and Nominee Director of ICICI (Industrial Credit & Investment Corporation of India Ltd)on BOMBAY FORGINGS,Bombay.

 

Now relaxing and enjoying retired life peacefully.

Main hobbies- watching Cricket matches on TV and few selected TV serials.
