By profession I am a Radiologist. Photography and Radiology share many of the same principles as far as image capture and display, both in the eras of film and digital imaging. As photographs moved into digital imaging so did x-ray.
My primary interest is Landscape Astrophotography.

The photos were taken with a variety of cameras over the years, changing with the times. I am currently using a Nikon D810A camera for night photography and a Nikon D750 for day photography. Lens include a Nikon 14-24 mm f/2.8, Rokinon 24 mm f/1.4, Rokinon 20 mm f/1.8, Rokinon 12 mm f/2.8 fisheye, and a recently purchased Sigma 14 mm f/1.8, and a Sigma 50 mm f/1.4. Earlier 35mm and digital cameras were Canon with a few rare exceptions. Earlier Medium Format cameras were Bronica and Contax. Digital cameras over the last few years the cameras have been Canon Digital SLR's, most recently the 6D, 5D Mark III, 1Ds Mk III, 5D Mark II, and the 7D. Canon lens include the 16-35mm 2.8L II, 28mm f1.8, 100mm 2.8 Macro, 70-200mm f4 L IS, 24mm f1.4 L, 8-15mm f4 fisheye and the 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 IS L. I use a 2 Gitzo tripods and an Acratech Ballhead for hiking. I find that as time goes on I use very few filters. Image processing is done on a Mac Pro Computer with Adobe LightRoom and Photoshop CC. I am currently printing using the Bay Photo Lab. Virtually all of the images were taken with available light, except Low Level Lighting (lowlevellighting.org) is used at night. About my friend Wayne, I am constantly inspired by Wayne’s conception of photography. I remember vividly the first day I found his stream. I thought there’s no way one guy can obtain this much talent. I was dumbstruck and a bright green color with envy. I became an avid follower soon after and started commenting on his photos because I am continually amazed by his artistic vision. So impressed with his Art (Work) that I started studying night and day, my wife hated it, but I had so much artistic inspiration fueling the fires that it took 6 months before I slept a normal night cycle. His insight into lighting a scene and getting the shot has alway helped me to push myself to the next level. Along with his witty banter and genuine commentary I established a relationship with him that I will always cherish. I have recently had the pleasure to meet Wayne and have had the privilege to shoot with him for a few days. IMHO you couldn’t meet a nicer more open minded person than Wayne. His willingness to help others on they’re photographic journey is one of the things that makes Wayne unique. He will always be a great source of inspiration to me and I thank my “lucky stars” (MilkyWay) that we meet.
