I'm a camera maker and modifier. For many years I was obsessed with pinhole photography, color, alternative processes and large format photography. My present passion is 6.5x9 cm cameras using dry plate collodion. I use the tannin process that Major C. Russell proposed in 1861, to preserve my plates. The color in my dry plate collodion images are the result of the staining action of the pyro developer used in the process.

"During development in pyro a yellowish-green image stain is produced in those areas of the negative where silver is being reduced, and this stain is proportional to the amount of silver: least in the shadows where there are areas of low silver density, greatest in the highlights." from unblinkingeye.com/Articles/PCat/pcat.html
