Don's knowledge of and "kinship" with the wild things and countryside, is what brings his subjects to life. This is a man who has seen some weather, overcome hardships and sailed some heavy seas. For all his fierce exterior, his heart is pure gold, soft as suede and tough as shoe leather. Don's love and respect of all things that live free, is apparent in the work and commentary that he so generously shares with us.
