I think I have been waiting all my life for them to invent digital photography!
Taking pictures has opened my eyes and made me see so many things I have never ever noticed before. Most of all it has made me really appreciate light, and understand how it totally transforms our view!
As a retirement present from work my colleagues bought me an Olympus u-1060, which fulfilled all my requirements. It was slim, lightweight, quick and simple to use and fitted in my handbag, so I always had it with me.
In 2021 I had a camera upgrade to a DC-TZ200, which seems to have more scope than my trusty Olympus, but does require a slightly bigger handbag. Let's see if my images improve!
When I am not taking photos I am probably singing, gardening, birdwatching, bellringing, researching my family history, making jam, knitting or - in 2021-2022 - being a City Host for Coventry UK City of Culture. In July/August/September, I am likely to be in London attending BBC Proms concerts and at other times visiting somewhere interesting or just reading a good book!
