I have owned a camera for more than 55 years, since I was a young boy of about 10 with a Kodak Instamatic and flash cubes. For my 21st, my Uncle Jack Lees passed on his Canon FT-B (1980) with an FD 50/1.4 lens. Since then I moved to a Canon AE-1, (1982) Canon A-1 (1985), Canon EOS 630 (1989) supplemented by my first digital, a Canon Powershot and several Canon Ixus compact digitals. My first digital SLR was a Canon EOS 20D (2005), later a full frame Canon EOS 6D (2010) and now a Canon EOS 5D Mk IV (2018). I still own every camera I have ever had plus more including my father's cameras going back to the early 1920s. This account is mainly about my travels but as I digitise more and more of my old negatives I am starting to include these as well. As an aside, I am Vice President for the Eltham District Historical Society in the north east of Melbourne where I have been actively digitising the society's collection and cataloguing it on Victorian Collections as well as managing the society's website and social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Historypin).
