My name is Steve Newell. I grew up and still live at Indian Township, Maine. Indian Township is a Passamaquoddy Indian Reservation wiith a population of 400-500 people.
I am happily married with two kids. I have a five year old daughter and a 1 1/2 year old son. My life revolves around my family.
I am currently employed at Washington County Community College where I graduated from in 2006. I started getting into photography a few years ago. My first camera was a 5MP Kodak point and shoot. I took many great photos with that camera. I started to lose interest in taking photos after awhile. I felt that I took the camera to its fullest extent and wanted to do much more.
It took me sometime, but I was finally able to buy a Canon EOS 40D in March 09. I am so amazed by the difference in an inexpensive point and shoot and a prosumer DSLR. I have got my passion back.
MY camera came with the 18-55mm kit lens. I was amazed with that. My wife bought me a Canon EF 70-300mm 4-5.6 is usm lens. Quite an amazing lens. I am now ready to buy the Canon 100mm 2.8 Macro lens, then the Canon EF 50 mm 1.4. I think I will be satisfied with these lenses for sometime. Update: I now have the Canon 100 mm macro and the Canon 50mm 1.8. I love both of these lenses.Obviously I would love to fill my bag with a bunch of L lenses, but I am on an extremely tight budget.
Well enough about me, time to go out and take some photos. My passion for photography is renewed and I look forward to learning as I go.
