My knowledge of cameras is negligible, it's the chance to capture a moment, a memory, a vista, that I love. So my Flickr is primarily an album of memories of my travels, some of my family, old B&W's from my mother's old albums, maybe a few that turned out rather well (more by accident than by design, I'm afraid!).
But as I scroll, so do I learn. Thanks to the patience and kindness of those I've met on Flickr in sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm with me, my world has opened up and I am inspired. I see the world differently and it is a beautiful world indeed.

I felt compelled to drop a few lines for the lovely Shirley. I wandered across her comments on friend James Griffin’s stream, a couple of years ago, and was soon hooked by not only her individual style and eclectic collection of pictures (the first I saw was the remnants of an excellent meal at a restaurant in Spain) but also the depth, thoughtfulness and wit of her comments and observations. Since having joined her merry band of pals, Shirley has proved to be a font of knowledge, humour, and has been a great ambassador to all things Canadian. Also, her dexterity and patience with the complex world of Desk-tops and “Tablets” has been inspiring …… especially within realms of fickle Flickr. Thank you Shirley, for enriching our lives, …….. and for being so patient with my obtuseness at times ! ;))
