Photography is fascinating me since more then 20 years. Catching light, shadows, tones and emotions - thats the essence. As a German I lived in various countries in Europe and was/am traveling around the world. This allowed and allows me to find new scenarios - at the end of the day nearly everything has been photographed - maybe in other light and view and not by me yet.....:-). Currently I live in Zürich, Switzerland.

My first serious camera was a Nikon F801, which accompanied me for a while. I resisted a long time to move to digital - however since roughly 6 years I changed from paper to pixel. Today my preferred equipment is a Nikon D800 and the Leica M-System (M9, M9P, MM). The Nikon preferably for the Tele-Range, all other with the Leica - which I fallen in love with. Both systems give me the option of sharpness I prefer. Now, in my view the picture is not taken by the camera - catching the light in the way you see and model it is mostly driven by the lens used. So I use a wide range of HQ lenses from Nikon and Leica.
