I'm retired and live in Arizona (where I grew up). I really enjoy all the opportunities for photography that surround me and I love to share the beauty of this area of the country. Before we moved here, we lived in the Bay area (Berkeley) for 35 years.
I now use a Canon 7D but also have a Canon 450D (XSi) and a Panasonic DMC-FZ18. Our current household includes 1 dog, 3 cats, 2 cockatiels, 1 mitred conure(Lefty passed Oct 20, 2010 at age 21 years at least) and 1 severe macaw.
In general, as many of my contacts have indicated on their profiles, I would like to have contacts who make comments on my photos every once in a while, as I like to make comments on theirs. So please don't take offense if I don't add everyone as a contact who adds me, especially if you have thousands of contacts. I've decided to block people who just fave pictures without comments and/or have no photos available to me.

I am constantly astonished at the variety of subjects that she portrays so magnificently, but I have to say that I'm partial to the special relationship she has with nature. Her imaginative perception and skill with the camera create images that speak to the heart, and visiting her photostream brings constant delight. I was happy to have found Gerri as a contact, simply because she is a fellow Arizona resident. However, that has evolved into respect for her photography - and what photography it is!! I will somedays be looking through my contacts photos and all of a sudden this completely outstanding image is there - and it's one of Gerri's. It might possibly be a landscape shot, an animal shot, possibly a rodeo shot, or something that I can't identify until reading about it, but these photos tell stories. Gerri always has wonderful comments to make on my photos, too, whether they deserve the praise or not. That's the kind of contact we all should have more of!! :)
