I am 55, married to my best friend and have 4 children. A 27 year old son and 3 daughters, 16 & 15....yes, I know that's 2 ages, well the youngest is a twin.

I am a retired police officer after 32 years and am founder and member of the band Calver Street.

I have always been interested in photography. Looking back at old pictures, I see where I tried to frame different shots rather the the straight on shot. The last 4 years or so, I have really been bitten by the "shutterbug"..I know, korny, but still true.

About 12 years ago, I bought a Sony Cyber-shot and I took picture after picture. Christmas 06, I bought my wife a Canon Power Shot S3 1S, so she could learn as well. Well, she hardly ever saw that camera...I took between 5000 &; 6000 shots over the next year. Christmas 2007, she surprised me with my first DSLR, a Nikon D40. Christmas 2009 she did it again....this time a Nikon D90. I have since upgraded to a D7000. I am constantly trying to learn the camera and the art of taking an appealing shot.
