I fell in love with photography back in the 80's and had my own darkroom and an Olympus OM1 with all the gadgets and would buy film in 100m rolls and "roll my own". If you think photography is expensive now, you should have tried it back then. My camera, auto-winder (yes it was a separate item back then) and 2 lenses cost me around $4000 which was nearly 5 months wages at the time.

But digital is an entirely new beast and while a lot of things on the capturing side are similar (good composition is still the most important thing), the post processing was initially a whole new adventure for me. 15 years on and it's better than ever.

Photography has become an obsession. I joined a local camera club, entered and won many national and international competitions, have earned my Australian Photographic Society Associate Honour, am currently completing my Diploma of Photography and have even started a photographic training and tour business rareview.photography/

While still developing my skills as I gain more experience, I hope you enjoy my work and if you stick with me, I hope to impress you more and more as time goes on.

I still have that old Olympus OM1, just couldn't throw it away. It is a museum piece now but it reminds me how much enjoyment I got out of photography then and now.
