Christian, Mum, Sister, Friend. When I am photographing I feel really alive.

I'm abit of a purist... if the photo works it works. If it doesn't It doens't... I don't change them, and I don't use filters on my lens to change the colours - I photograph what I see.

My first true love was my Pentax P30N... I've loved my Pentax ME Super for over 16 years and now I'm using a Pentax MZ-7 with a 28-105mm lens. My main camera that I use now is my new (as of Sept 09) Canon EOS 450D. I also shoot film sometimes on my Nikon fm2 which used to belong to a special cousin of mine.

I've loved photography since I was taught about simple compostion of photos at a camp when I was 12 years old. Since then, wherever I am, whatever I do, I crop scenes in my mind, and when I see something good, I grab my camera. If I don't have access to it, it feels like my arm is cut off. Well, maybe not that bad...

I'm feeling proud....

I have photos from Kakadu, Darwin and Uluru (Northern Territory of Australia); Istanbul, Turkey; Kazakstan; and PNG... one day I'll dig them out and scan them onto Flickr!

I've just been invited to be an administrator of www.flickr.com/groups/theshire/. Come visit us and post your Cronulla beach and Royal National park pics....

I'm also one of the administors of www.flickr.com/groups/seeingsydney/ - wow! Thanks for the shiny gold star guys!

A couple of my photos have been used on this website... members.nowpublic.com/photo_by_alison

...and a few on the Mosman Library website!! Cool, huh? :)

Decisive Frame (deleted)

Alison has a wonderful sensitivity to her environs which she ably captures in her photography. A great eye for composition and design makes for terrific photos of her subjects. It's always a delight to look at her photos (and I love her Australian accent.)
