My mom dragged me to lots of exhibitions since the time I hadn't understood why to look at an image for more than two seconds. She didn't give up and today I go to the exhibitions voluntarily and I enjoy it very much. We always had the walls covered by paintings and I tend to feel awkward at places with the empty walls - because of the look and because of the strange sound.

During few the primary school holidays I spent s lot of time in with my uncle at a county cultural organization where we made hundreds of photos in the darkroom. That's where I had seen Pentax and Hasselblad and printing machines for the first time. Thanks to my uncle we had one full wall covered by the large scale bw pictures of heads in traditional Slovak folk dresses/hats.

My mom once interviewed someone unexpectadly and since there hadn't been any photographer she gave me our Minolta and I made my first real pictures. I was too young to be listed on a payroll so none of my pics were used but I had learned the first lesson: there's a question, then there's a short moment of settling the questino in the mind of a interviewee and then there's a short time when the reaction comes through the face, the voice and the gesture and you have to press the shooter button. That's the moment where most of emotions come out and your target often doesn't care about being photographed.

I didn't take pictures for next 15 years then I have got my first DSLR and started to take pictures for real.

Motivation

I hate being photographed so I have bought a camera to hide behind.

Workflow

I usually use RAW format (NEF) and I basicly develop pictures in my computer (ufraw, GIMP) and optionally I take it to the legendary photo service in Bratislava (Sky Color Foto) where they help me to get the best of it.

If it seems I don't update my profile for a long time it means Yahoo requires my phone number to let me log in (which is personal data I'm not willing to give away).
