I'm a photographer who makes my living from working with others to create memorable images for their business or personal use. As a hired gun, I'm proficient in many styles but my personal style combines journalism and art as a means of storytelling.
While I'm very comfortable producing stand alone photographs and the freedom of working solo, I also enjoy working in a collaborative environment with a writer, editor, stylist, art director and others to make specific images for a particular project or assignment.
I work with both professional digital cameras as well as medium format film cameras. I am currently learning wet plate collodion photography, a process used in the mid to late 1800's.
I love spicy tacos, strong coffee and my dog named Kat.
Disclaimer: Viewing my photography work will not treat or cure any known diseases however, they may make you think, wonder or dream.
The images you see on my Flickr stream have taken enormous time and effort to make. The equipment and travel have cost a fortune and some photos were made in extremely dangerous situations. Please respect my work by not using or printing it without permission. Also, it would be a violation of federal copyright law. Yes, bloggers, publications, social & news media and companies who embed images, that means you too.

It has been interesting to see that vision redirected from musicians, roller derby and local homeless to the people of a foreign land that has been ravished by wars brought by intruding occupiers throughout much of its history. One constant I see in all Phil's work is a respect for his subjects no matter what their station in life. I hope he continues to show others the world from his perspective for many years to come. Phil is one of the reasons I return to Flickr often.

Phil is not only an able photographer (see photo sets inside) - but a class AAA person. His ability to meld his love of music into images that sing is well complimented by his quick eye and technical skill at the Kansas City Roller Warrior track. It's no wonder he's quickly become not only a favorite of the skaters, but a fan favotire as well. Look for his work to appear in future editions of Blood n' Thunder as well as Derby Gal magazines, in addition to his current list of publications.
