I started my photography when I was a teenager using a Pentax film camera and developing black and white film at home in a converted room, suffice to say it only lasted a few years. Work, Marriage and other commitment then took over and photography had to take a back seat for some time. Digital started me off again in 2001, my first digital camera was a Nikon E950 with a 2.1 megapixel sensor and a 3X optical zoom, the advantages of digital was a revelation. This was followed by a series of compact cameras until in 2005 I purchased my first DSLR a Nikon D70, the instantaneous shutter response and the flexibility of interchangeable lens was a great improvement. A succession of DSLR's followed until I finally took the plunge and purchased a full frame DSLR. That was a Nikon D610 with a range of lens from 16mm to 300mm. Since 2016 I have changed to a Fuji XT-5 mirrorless camera. The image quality is excellent, and the camera and the lenses are much lighter and easier to carry.
I have used a variety of software, but now use Adobe Lightroom Classic and Adobe Photoshop CC, these programs enable me to catalog, develop, and print photographs in addition to producing sideshows and uploading to the web.
As I have Now retired I intend to spend some more time taking photos and hopefully improving the standard of my photography.
