The Ship Preservation Guild owns the barkentine Gazela and manages the historic tug, Jupiter, both having Philadelphia as home port and docked at Penn’s Landing. The Guild is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose mission is to preserve and operate historic vessels. The mission is enhanced through education programs which bring lessons of seamanship, traditional sailing and maritime culture to the public.

Our volunteers represent people of all ages, backgrounds and skills who share a common love of historic vessels and maritime history.
